Special high-security constructions from SÄLZER protect emergency personnel in aid or military organisations and in embassies within crisis zones against mortar or artillery attacks. The devastating damage caused by shellfire is due to the wide, spherical dispersion of the exploding projectile.
These high-security units are used in industrial environments or with test institutes to build test rigs in order to provide reliable protection for employees and industrial products against bursting and exploding materials.

SÄLZER develops, produces and installs tested units which can be used individually for a range of different applications, such as a protective wall in front of a building. Complete shelters that provide protection against mortar and artillery shellfire are also part of the portfolio. These are used as guard houses or observation posts in military areas or civil protection, as well as in industrial environments for the construction of test rigs, in order to provide reliable protection for employees and industrial products against bursting and exploding materials. Within the residential sphere, they replace typical underground bunkers, as they are ideal as a fully functioning pool or guest house that also provides protection in the event of an emergency.
During an ambitious test, a SÄLZER steel construction has withstood the explosion of an artillery shell of 155 mm calibre and a weight of around 43 kg at a distance of just 1.5 metres. These values correspond to resistance class C5 in accordance with NATO STANAG 2280, offering maximum burst and explosion protection.
The high-security units also protect against bullets with all portable, fully automatic weapons, including machine guns such as an AK-47, AK-74, Nato G3, M16 or MG3.
By using a modular system with partition walls, doors, windows and roof constructions in our system designs, we draw on units that have already been tested from a tailored modular system. We are also able to adapt our products in terms of height, width, and exterior and interior design to meet specific customer needs and requirements.
The faceted construction of our protective walls and container systems means that the units can be pre-assembled by us and brought to their installation site quickly, where they can be installed and attached within the shortest space of time.
Geographical flexibility is always required with military buildings in particular. If necessary, we can design systems so that their location can be changed quickly and easily, all while offering the same level of protection.
Even though rigid constructions are required to safeguard against bullets, flexibility is needed when it comes to protecting against explosions, and stability for burglar resistance – completely contradictory requirements that we are able to meet thanks to our specialist expertise.
